AI-coding is an imperative

ยท Calculating...

I tried going back to nbdev for a while as I felt like every bit of code I was writing with Claude Code was 'superficial' in that I didn't really understand the actual details of the code. I also felt like my coding skills were atrophying. Both are almost certainly true.

However, I simply cannot spend the time in the weeds when these AI tools are available. I would love to - don't get me wrong - I really do enjoy the details and writing code. But given my personal family circumstances and work and other commitments, I simply don't have the time to do this and make any progress on the projects I want to explore.

Its a shame really. Maybe my position will change over time. It seems to change on a weekly basis. But the existence of these tools and knowing about them changes the landscape and its difficult to go back.
